Should have done much better - arrived at Anfield as an international striker - and Champions League golden boot winner. Left Anfield out of the World Cup squad and unable to hit a cows backside with a banjo.

Never mind.

It should have worked - but the player just never adapted to the English game.

Fair play to Rafa though - he didn't take an enormous loss on a player who had failed so miserably and wasn't getting any younger.

Bought: £2.2 million
Sold: swop for Jan Kromkamp

Josemi was one of Rafa's first buys and looked good. Well for the first half of the first game. He looked like he was hard - but in the end we realised he was just crap.

But Rafa did swop him for Kromkamp - and Kromkamp is worth at least £2.2 million so in the end not the worst of deals.

If Robbie hadn't have signed we wouldn't have ended up with a record Premiership points total. Simple as.

He may not be the quickest, but he still knows exactly where the goal is.

Great for team spirit, great for the fans, great for the goals tally. Well done Rafa. A bargain at £0 as well!
