Reds striker: It’s over for me and Liverpool

Florent Sinama Pongolle, one time touted as a potential World beater, doesn’t want to come back to Anfield when his loan deal expires.

The French youngster is currently on loan at Recreativo Huelva. He has scored five goals already this season in La Liga.

However when asked about his plans for the end of the season, Pongolle said:

“No, I don’t see myself at Liverpool next year, it is over,” Sinama-Pongolle said.

“I have been important for them, helping them to win cups, scoring in the Champions League and FA Cup.

“But I feel very good in Spain. The league is more technical, less direct, and I have scored five goals.

“I want to do more than the club’s best scorer record of 10 goals.”

Shut the door behind you Pongo.

Will we miss Pongolle??

He was an excellent “impact” substitute as was shown by the oylimpiakos and luton games however over 90 minutes he was less impressive - certainly contributaed more than the other houllier “gem” anthony le tallec

It’s a shame the lad was never given a steady run in the team because he always had somtething to offer. He always performed to his best and had a knack of scoring important goals for us. Given a little investment and encouragement I think he would have been a first team regular. Good luck to you Sinama and thanks for everything!

What a big head! While he did score a few good goals but was never able to produce consistent form. It is not about what he thinks but what Rafa thinks.

Go ahead burn your bridge.

Let him go, he expected to just walk into the side every game.
Dream on.

Very talented player - still young. We rarely gave him the chance to play upfront.

Docked by Houllier and used sparingly by Rafa as makeshift winger.

Time only will tell.

I doubt he would ever have become a regular first team selection so it would be best for him to move on. He did score some vital goals but he is no more than a bit player. Good luck to him in his career though.

He was ok. We have to give him credit fot Olympiacos and Luton. I think he has talent and could flourish outside of the premiership. Ultimately though, I think we will just about manage without him!

Flo was and still is a super player. He was very much a part of every cup we won in recent years, popping up with very important goals too.

Having scored those goals, he should have been given more of a chance. As much as I love God, Flo should be with us instead. He’s very quick to accelerate, has quick feet and is very unpredictable - not quite Ronaldo, but along the same lines.

Those who speak badly of him know very little about the game. He’ll make for a very important player within the next 2 years, and all those who scoffed will eat their words.

Rafa Never really gave him a chance.

I suppose Rafa has his preferances.

He has not performed worse than many of the players in the present team.

Flo is special!!! Although, Rafa never gave him enough chance to display his worth. The manager knows better, but the lad deserve better than the small handful chances he had. Given adequate opportunities, he will surely shine. Anyway, the manager have his preference. Good luck FLO.
