Mascherano heads off to Barcelona after ‘official’ signing

FIFA, football’s world governing body, had already decreed it so but the Premier League officials felt the need to exercise a bit of power and today, 20 days after the close of the transfer window, completed the deal.Jav
Javier Mascherano has flown to Barcelona with the rest of the players and is eligible to play.

Not sure if he is match fit but a quality signing and with so many spanish speaking players is sure to fit in. Calls even more now for the 3-5-2 system where we play 3 in centre midfield. even the 3-4-1-2 that he likes because you can use gerrard in an even more advanced role if there are two holding midfielders behind him.
