Mixed news on injured reds stars

Agger aiming for Liverpool return.
by Anfield Online | Thursday 15th November 2007

Be the first Have your say

Daniel Agger is aiming to return to the Liverpool side in time for next weekend’s clash at St James Park.

The influential reds’ centre-back has been out since early on in September when he suffered a break to his metatarsal bone. Sami Hyypia has been heavily involved with the side in his absence.

Benitez spoke about the injured reds to the official site:

“Agger is improving a lot, and he has started running now.”

“Yossi Benayoun is with the physios now. We will have to see if he is fit for Newcastle, it’s still too early to say.

“He and Agger are maybes but perhaps it will be easier for Agger than for Benayoun.”

Benitez added: “Xabi should start running in the next week but he is a no for Newcastle, for sure.”
