United dumped out – Reds to face Milan in 2005 repeat

Man United tonight joined Chelsea on the European scrap heap – leaving Liverpool to represent England in the Champions League final in what will be a highly charged repeat of the greatest European Cup Final in Istanbul two years ago.

United were swept away by Milan 3-0 at the San Siro.

It is believed many hundreds of United and Chelsea fans had booked holidays to Athens, such was their confidence of getting to the European Cup Final.  Not too worry – there will be plenty of Liverpool fans who will take these off your hands.

The final the media were expecting Chelsea-Man United has not materialised. Two real European giants will slug it out with 12 European titles between them.

AC Milan will want revenge but we are also a much better side than we were two years ago in Istanbul.

European Cup Final
23rd May 2007
Liverpool (ENG) v AC Milan (ITA)
