Kuyt: Man City money can’t buy us

Ahead of this weekend’s game, Dirk reminds City that money can’t buy you love. Or Gerrard.

Despite their huge new found wealth, Dirk Kuyt has reminded Man City that a team doesn’t become glamorous overnight, and that City would never prise the likes of Gerrard away from Anfield.

“The gap between the big four and the rest is becoming smaller because there are teams like Manchester City and Aston Villa with more money. But I don’t think any player from Liverpool would go to City because Liverpool is a much bigger club.

“Liverpool is Stevie Gerrard so, of course, it would be very difficult to buy him. I don’t think he would ever leave Liverpool for City and I don’t know what value you would put on him but it would be a lot of money.

“So it won’t be easy for City, especially if they want to sign the really big players. Of course, it’s possible but if you want the ones who are already playing for the big clubs; that’s the difficult thing.”

well my opinion of his remark is this, i think stevie is commited but some of the new arrival doubt if they have the same commitment, but now we seem to have all the peices in place for a @1 spot in ther premier league perhaps the uncommitted players will show there loyalty and stay
