After what seems like forever Liverpool will return to action today with the first pre-season game of the summer.
The reds will take on local side Tranmere Rovers on the other side of the River Mersey in what should be an opportunity to see some of the new boys in action.
The match will be carried live on Setanta Sports for those not at Prenton Park, and with most of the players back in training we should see two completely different line ups in each half.
Liverpool started last season’s campaign with a 3-2 away victory over Wrexham thanks to a Besian Idrizaj hat trick and the same result again would be do very nicely.
