Doss to ‘battle’ for his place

Andrea DossenaAndrea Dossena enjoyed a torrid season last year for the reds (albeit despite a couple of memorable goals against Real Madrid and Man United).

The Italian international has seen himself fall behind the young Argentine left back Emiliano Insua in the pecking order at Anfield, and the speculation this summer was all about him desperately wanting a return to Italy – his desired salary the major problem.

With less than a fortnight to go in the transfer window it appears Andrea Dossena has had a change of heart.

“I’ve heard a lot of rumours about my future this summer but the truth is I want to remain at Liverpool.

“I’m happy with my team-mates, with my coach and with the club. I have never wanted to leave.”

Maybe he really means it, maybe he’s happy he has a new Italian mate at Anfield, or maybe Serie A clubs don’t pay as well?

  1. Another £7 million wasted by Rafa on a player he now can’t get rid off!!.Oh…wait a minute it must be the Americans who forced him to sign garbage like DROSSana!.

He’s battling for his place because no one else wants him!!.It’s only one game in the season and i’m feeling so depressed seeing our lack of depth and how skint we are!.
