I think what the prince is saying is that part of the purchase price of the shares must go towards reducing the debt. This will prevent Gilette from stealing the full amount. He probably will also ask Hicks to match him pound for pound and that should get rid of the other thief! This deal is far from imminent and the negotiations will take time. So don’t be too optimistic about changes being effected very soon.

Arab’s are smart business people and will only invest if they have total or majority control.Personally i doubt they’ll be interested seeing the current financial state of the club.

I smell a TOTAL fire sale in Janury or over the summer. Big time. Maybe the only real star that will be left is Gerrard. Seeing now that the Saudis will NOT buy the club until they get rid of some debt, that can only mean one thing: SELL-OFF! Waive goodbye to Fernando Torres, because he will be the primary solution to slashing the debt – ASSUMING that the owners actually use that money to pay off the debt. Then waive goodbye to most of the other stars. Gerrard is untouchable, but noone else really is. Not even Carragher.

Once they conduct a massive fire sale, and bring in OK (as in capable of playing in the Premiership but not expensive enough to cut into the net gain from the sales significantly) replacements the debt SHOULD be cut down far enough to sell the club to someone who wants to be successful and not just…STEAL all of the money.

Who do you think will buy Torres and for how much?

Im HOPING Manchester Utd dont buy him, who else can afford him in the Premier League taht actually has a need? Chelsea and Macnhester City dont have a need. I dont know that Arsenal really have a need either. Spurs? can they afford him?

That leaves AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid (that would be over the top), Barcelona (they dont really have a need). I mean, not many people can afford his price now. Given the money shelled out for C. Ronaldo and Kaka, I dont think Benitez will settle for anything less than 75M. what does everyone else think?

I mean, this really is the road we are heading down with this club. These people are total scum and this is going to collapse sooner or later in on itself. The government can print money out of thin air to keep their scam of an economy going, BUT these two clowns cannot. So the clock is ticking.

This whole Gillett/Hicks deal smells like a good old-fashioned Ponzi Scheme, you know, like Social Security in America. You borrow other people’s money to buy something, then you take most of the profits for yousrself continuously. Meanwhile, you move all the real financial assets out the back door while retaining a small pool of the profits to pay off the investors, in this case the banks (the club’s loan financing package), and in this case they set aside 20M for the transfer market every time around. Meanwhile the majority of the profits are being directly pocketed and divied up.

There is no new stadium unless something changes, thats a scam beacuse they clearly cannot afford to pay for it. I dont know how they do it in the UK, but in America the taxpayers almost ALWAYS pay for the stadium while the team invests little or none of its own money in the construction so that the team owners can saddle the people with the burden while reaping the profits. There was recently a pro ice hockey arena that costs about 200M approved and it is almost finished in Pittsburgh, A casino offered the city to FULLY pay for the ENTIRE arena as long as they were given a license to build a slots casino nearby. The arena would be build by now, instead the city REFUSED to accept that bid. They accepted a casino bid from someone who COULD NOT AFFORD to pay for the initial investment and never even had the money to begin with. That casino is now built under a different owner and the new arena was approved but ONLY if it was funded by the taxpayers. The person who got the casino license cannot afford to pay his share of the arena, so they just made the people pay for it with new taxes. THAT is how it works in America when it comes to stadiums. It is all about jacking money out of the citizenry. How do they do it in the UK?

I think they will leave together in the end, the Saudi’s will get shut of them as they have too much power. Just get the stadium built and let the fans do the rest , this will go through as H+G have nowhere to go as they are terrified in and around the city. Do the right thing and fuck-off.

I thought the debt was on Kop Holdings Ltd the company created by Dumb and Dumber to buy LFC.

Surely the Prince can buy LFC and the 2 numpties can go and pay on their debts.
