Mascherano can only look on as Germany tear Argentina apart

Javier Mascherano and Maxi Rodriguez have been added to the list of Liverpool players leaving the World Cup after Argentina were gunned down 4-0 by Germany in the World Cup Quarter Finals.

Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina moved a step closer to the World Cup final when a David Villa goal saw Spain progress 1-0 against Paraguay.  Spain will now face the ruthless looking German side in the semi-final.

Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel are the only other two Liverpool players already through to the semi-final, which they will play against Uruguay.

Javier Mascherano has been amongst those most heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer and his early exit will only increase speculation about a move to Barcelona or Inter Milan.
