Liverpool confirm re-signing of Fabio Aurelio.

Liverpool FC have confirmed that they have agreed to re-sign left back Fabio Aurelio on a two year deal.  Aurelio appeared to have played his last game for the Reds when his contract ended earlier this year, but was offered the chance to prove his worth in a second stint at the club.

Hodgson said,

“I asked the club to find out whether Fabio had found a new club.  When we ascertained that he hadn’t, we invited him back to Melwood so both myself and my staff, and the medical team could properly assess the player. We were both very impressed and I am delighted we were able to re-sign Fabio.”

Aurelio has been included in the squad for Liverpool’s tie with Borussia Moenchengladbach. He yesterday spoken of his delight at signing for Liverpool once again, saying,

“It’s like a new beginning for me.  I feel very pleased and proud.  It feels like I am signing for the first time – everything has changed so it is like a new beginning for me with new confidence and a new boss.  Hopefully I can do well this season.”

“My aim is to help the team do better than last season.  Everything is going really well, so I think we can progress a lot.  We have made some good additions to the team and we can be very confident.”

“I have been working for a while by myself since the end of my contract and trying to keep fit in pre-season, so I think I am in good condition.  Hopefully I can have some involvement in the game against Moenchengladbach.”

Thats great news, i never wanted Fabio to go in the 1st place, yes he’s had a few injury problems, but he’s still a good player. Welcome back Fabio, and Roy you’ve done it again nice signing :)

Naturally we only re-signed him due to a lack of money and his inability to find another club.I see no reason to get excited over this average player who spends more time injured then anything else.
