Spurs game postponed

by Anfield Online | Friday 8th January 2010

UPDATED 4pm: The game with Spurs has now been postponed.

Liverpool Football Club are understood to have asked the Premier League to postpone the club’s fixture against Tottenham Hotspur due to be played on Sunday at 4pm.

The North West has been particularly hard hit with the snowfall this week which arrived on Monday evening.  Temperatures of -12 have turned the surrounding areas in to a large ice-rink.

The club are believed to be concerned about the safety of spectators arriving to the ground, and under police advice have been told that the game should not go ahead.

However, the game is due to be televised and the powerful influence of Sky Sports will be keen to keep the game on.

More details as we receive them.
