Dalglish gives short shrift to PSG-Suarez link

Dalglish plays down suggestions linking Paris Saint-Germain with Luis Suarez, following the speculation earlier this week.

PSG are being funded by some investors in Qatar and ambitious owner Nasser Al-Khelafi is rumoured to be ready to pile tens of millions in a summer transfer spending spree.

Carlo Ancelotti is now at the helm, and both Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain were mentioned in a press interview with the club’s owner earlier this week.

But the Liverpool manager suggested that PSG would be wasting their time.

“Nobody has spoken to us but it wouldn’t make any difference. If they reversed the (telephone) charges, the call would not get taken. It’s the usual story.”

“The journalist mentioned Suarez. The journalist mentioned Higuain. He (Al-Khelaifi) said ‘hey are all attractive’.

“He never said it was Luis Suarez and I’m sure there is more than one Suarez who plays football.”
