Liverpool braced for movement on two midfielders

Liverpool could complete ins and outs on two midfielders in the coming days as the closure of the transfer window approaches.

Press reports are indicating a potential about-turn for Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin who at the weekend was reported close to a move to Arsenal.  Although a deal had supposedly been agreed between Jose Mourinho's club and Arsene Wenger, the reds have offered an increased percentage of the players Madrid salary in an effort to bring the Turkish international to Liverpool on a one year loan.

A potential €18M fee could be paid at the end of the loan period if both clubs and Sahin agree to a permanent deal.  Several journalists are reporting that a medical will take place today, however several of these journalists also speculated that a medical would be held at Arsenal earlier this week.

Liverpool are keen to tie up the deal which could facilitate at least one midfield exiting the club.

If Sahin arrives, Jay Spearing is almost certain to make the switch to Bolton Wanderers.  Both clubs appear to favour a one year loan with an option to buy.  The reds have placed a £3M valuation on the 23 year old.

  1. I personally think Liverpool needs to buy the following players: Luis Fabiano, Diego Forlan (in mid-field), Clint Dempsey and Miroslav Klose. I think if these payers were to come to Liverpool, they can make a big difference.

    • I agree, players get past him way to easily and his passing hasn’t been great ether. Spearing,Adam,Downing should also be sold and I think we should only keep Henderson in case Stevie or any of the other center midfielders get injured.
