Jürgen Klopp ‘very proud of his players’ after 3 wins in 8 days

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has praised his team for dealing with the difficult conditions and recording another win that moves the side up to 6th place in the league.

Speaking to the BBC shortly after the game he said:

"It was really difficult conditions for both teams.  The wind was even more in the stadium than inside the stand.

"The next thing was that Swansea defended very well.  They had some problems in the past few games when they were not playing as compact as they did today.  They did very well.  It is probably out of respect for (the way LFC have been playing) in the last few games.

"(For us) to get results in a row.  You have to fight for it. I'm very proud of them.

Klopp was reminded that Simon Mignolet was protected well by the team and did not have to make a single save.

"That's it - they did not have big chances. We defended really well. I have to say what Jordon Ibe did tonight, in the tactical part of the game, defensively it was great, it was a big step for him - a big step for us.

Jurgen was asked about Henderson and Sturridge - who both made second half appearances from the bench.

"Of course - they are important for us. It gives us much more options. We need these 18,19,20 players in good shape with a massive amount of games in the next few weeks.

In Germany they have a winter break something that Klopp will not enjoy the luxury of in the English domestic football calendar.

"As a fan I always enjoyed the Boxing Day (football). Now I'm in the middle of it - it's okay! We have to play the 26th, 30th and 2nd.  I think some teams are playing the 26th and 28th - I never understand this.  But yeah, it's okay. We know how many games are coming."
