Outside chance of Origi return for the final

Divock Origi has not yet returned to full training but remains an outside chance to be involved in Basel next Wednesday.

The player is back at Melwood, out on the field, but yet to return to competitive training with his teammates.

"I'm ahead of schedule, so there's still a chance for the final.

"I just have to do everything and it's the manager who decides what will happen.

"I'd say my mind says that I can be ready but the body has to follow, so we'll see."

He was named yesterday in Belgium's Euro 16 squad, alongside teammates Simon Mignolet and Christian Benteke.

He was stretchered off with what seemed a severe injury in last month's Merseyside derby but the after-match prognosis was more positive.

The Belgian striker has seen a huge upturn in fortunes since Klopp's arrival and his impact in both Dortmund fixtures was seen as crucial in securing Liverpool's continuation in the tournament.

"You have time to think and see your game and so you can use this time in a good way.

"Now, mentally I'm fresh and everything's okay, so hopefully my body will be right and then we'll see.

Liverpool travel to West Brom for Sunday's clash against West Brom before the full attention switches to the final.
