Irish idiot commentators after Liverpool – Barcelona
by Jason Darby | Monday 12th March 2007Unfortunately, balanced views went out the window in this particular Irish studio. Eamonn Dunphy, chief clown in this piece, slates Liverpool. A bitter twisted Man United fan if ever you met one.
Let’s win it just to make these idiots life a misery – watch out for the ‘Gerrard is a nobody’ line… Classic.

Pathetic bitter people.
Maybe we should have just let them beat us.
ahhh, i dont agree with them mostly, and im from ireland, but to be fair, its much much better to listen to the trip that they talk about than listening to sky + the bbc + itv etc, as on those channels, they just repeat the same lame stuff, never bold enough to dare say something that might be adventurous or that might cause an arguement.
@ dunphy & giles:
you talk a lot of tripe,
i sometimes agree, i cannot agree on most things, but fair balls to you for having the courage to speak openly.
@ english studio commentators:
learn to have some courage & speak your mind, speak honestly and dont act like a drone!!
sorry, if i seem to be defending the guys here, but im not, im a full on pool fan, but id prefer to watch these guys than the other non options!!
ynwa
Its natural for a team who are winning to eventual lay deep and defend when the onus is on the other team to go forward and try to score.
Liverpool could not mantain that pressure on them for 90 mins and it seems that idiot Eamonn Dunphy, was making it believe that barcelona, regardless of how well they play their football, had a divine right to win and go through, if thats the case, lets not start the tournament and hand it over to barca. WHAT A PLONKER!!! Ur in the buisness of judging performances, what performace did u see just the second half, take ur blinkers off m8 it was a tactical game and thats how u will win tournaments not just by jogo bonito! UR A DISGRACE TO TV!
Im from Ireland, and yes these guys are total idiots.I watch football on sky because the commentators know what there talking about. However, these guys just dont slate Liverpool, its ever team..Manure,Chelski and the GOONER’s.Complete idiots!!!
Wow, these guys are crazy. they need to be sectioned under the mental health act 1983 or ss we say in south London, ‘eejits’
Look on the bright side, at least we are good enough to be so unreservedly hated.
Con what the hell are you talking about? what they said wasn’t adventurous, it was pure rubbish and nothing more. Liverpool knocked out the so called best club side on the planet and these morons slag them off for it. There is nothing adventurous about that, these morons shouldn’t be allowed on TV.
Totally angree andrew, football is not about performances primarily, it is about results. These guys are an insult to the average Irish football fan.
hahaha, what numpties these people are. Total contradiction in that they feel barcelona deserve to be in the quarter finals because they play the beautiful game yet they also never turned up to play at anfield.
what game where they watching? we had countless good chances and took the game to barca. seems to me that these people need to take the blinkers off and stop believing all the hype about ronaldinho and co. RTE seems good for a laugh though, great sketch guys
The day Stevie Gerrard needs advice from Eamonn Dunphy a tenth rate Irish clogger who’s skill and ability took him to the mighty Millwall and York City, hell will freeze over.
I suggest Dunphy keeps his anally retarded carcass away from Liverpool in general and Anfield in particular.
I too am Irish and a Liverpool supporter. I have to admit that I usually enjoy watching them as their not afraid to tell it like it is. But I thought both Giles and Dunphy were way off the mark that night. Both are Man U men. In my opinion Liverpool out-thought and out-worked Barcelona and thoroughly deserve their place in the last eight. Benitez is no fool. He went with a plan and a team for that game and it worked perfectly. But its just typical that Liverpool don’t ever get the credit that they deserve.
It’s a wind up surely! No? Oh dear I thought Andy Grey was bad, this ‘punditry’ is abysmal, bitter and bigoted. They obviously know zilch about football.
Gerrard is a nothing player… what? Are you guys from Mars?
Liverpool went to the Nou Camp, played them off the park and won. They came to Anfield, we were unlucky not to be 2 or 3 up in the 1st half. Barcelona had a better 2nd half but only scored 1 goal to win. Tactically Rafa got it right and we progressed to the Quarter Finals.
Unless my eyes and ears deceive me over 2 legs we were the better team and results are what count. Pretty football isn’t always the answer and these guys comments are pretty awful, a disgrace to their profession.
Hi All,
I watched the game on RTE and couldnt believe the sh**e they were talking.
Dunphy is a scum fan and brady is a arse man, their a pack of muppets, they seemed not to notice the first half when we should have but the game to bed.
Listen lads the previous week they absolutely slated Ronaldo for Man U so sometimes they do get it right. They were way off the mark this time though and sometimes they try to be too controversial with their analysis.
Anyway if its any consolation they did the same to us right thru the epic 2005 campaign right up to half time of the final, so the less said.
Happy Paddys Day
Absolutely priceless! To think these people got paid for this ‘expert’ analysis. Dunphy’s only claim to fame was letting his c**k hang out in Stoke’s team photo.
Liam Brady is a HYPOCRITE he was part of the Aresnal side that bore the s**t out of everyone in the seventies and eighties.
As for the game itself it was a pretty tense affair and if hitting the woodwork was a factor in the second half by Ronaldinho (lazy b*****d) Liam, Liverpool hit the bar twice in the 1st half. So 2-1 to Liverpool for hitting the woodwork
I too am Irish, and I cant look at these guys. They are full of crap, change opinions from one side of a half to the other. They work on the cover of the book rather than what’s inside. They dont know too much in detail about clubs. They are articulate bulls***ters, like any average joe you meet in a bar. I particularly love the way they keep on about Gerrard in the centre, his best position and citing last year and all the goals he scored. Of course, they dont know that he played on the right for most of last year and they also then commend Sissoko’s role in the centre. Total contradictory idiots, like listening to their own voices, any old eejit could do what they do. Dunphy apart from this is a vile self promoter for his career which is based on disagreeing with everything and being controversial, full stop. These guys are not what we could call clever or educated even about football.
I couldn’t agree more with what they said to be honest. Dunphy, Giles & Brady are often quick to give credit where it is due and grew up when Liverpool could absolutely destroy teams with magical football. There days they can’t string a few passes together when the going gets tough. It’s not good enough to have heart, you need to be able to at least pass the ball around, Gerrard, no matter what anyone thinks is another Beckham, gets the highlights when he does something spectacular but can’t do the basics often enough. Alonso is getting worse an passing, these guys are costing us points with silly mistakes and hot/cold porformances.
In Ireland we are honoured to have the only sports channel in the world that are not afraid to speak their minds, the sooner we stop believeing the crap from the British media we can start winning leagues again, and winning them in style.
RED1028
Yes, could have (And should have) been 4 up, real great teams finish the opponents off, we need to do that week in week out.
Brady great player , boring gooner tem (they are out!!!)
Dunlhpy, crap player, so bitter he should be a bluenose,
giles, always second to shanklys reds
in the Nou camp it should have been 1-4, kuyt and bellers missed sitters
Anfield, 10 clear cut chances in 1st half, barca out played and out fought
2nd half, reds ran out of steam and controlled the remainder of the game, just like a quality german side (and we win on penalties)
we can go all the way, this lot ahould go and join merson in the clinic!!!
3 drunken retards,
They are a disgrace, speaking as an Irish Liverpool fan.RTE in general are man utd on the brain despite the fact that Liverpool have much more support.Dunphy a failed player and Giles a failed manager hate Liverpool as does Brady a whinging ex gunner.Throw in trevor steven into the mix and you have the most biased panel in history. The campaign has begun to oust these idiots.check out this site and join in. http://www.myspace.com/rtemuppetpundits
These men are obviously idiots. When are these TV stations going to start employing unbiased commentators. Sky, BBC, RTE etc etc are filled with commentators who are either Manure, Chelsea or Arsenal fans. Liverpool were simply the better side against Barca, Ronaldinho, Messi etc etc were NOT allowed to play and Liverpool but for poor finishing could have won the game 4-1. In Barcalona we were the better side too! As someone previously just said Brady played for one of the most boring sides ever who won very little the 70s and 80s Arsenal. Let’s hope we go on to win the Trophy – that will really wind them up!! Ha Ha Ha
im irish but no wonder they make jokes About the irish, with soft lads down in the free state talking like that
im of irish decent and these men do unfortunatley give the irish justly the thick tag liam brady how were your mighty arsenal playing against the mighty PSV we will show you how to play the european game and as for man utd the peformance against llile well not a burning display. one last thing 5 times weve won it 5 times the most sucsesfull english team ever
Dunphy was a third rate n**ody. You put guys like these in an studio, give them a microphone and suddenly they become experts! In Dunphys case it applies EX = has been. SPERT = a drip under pressure.
I apologise to these men in future when we play a good first half like we did against barca with a few saves made by their keeper and the post hit twice we will just bend over and say go on boys!!!!
Over 2 legs we were the better team. Tacticly more astute, well defended and scored more goals, against some of the worlds best that is.
I would like to see what these fools made of the mediocre performance the sumbag manure put in against those world beaters Lille!!!!
And as for Gerrard being a n**ody I suppose that Fletcher of Man U must be the next Zidne!!!!!!
Oh My Fu**ing God!
Can’t believe the shoite that’s just invaded my ears.
Was gonna explain in detail why these kn**s are completely wrong but my old dad taught me to never argue with a drunken Irishmen – apparently the long term use of roadwork machinery combined with the fumes from asphalt have left them with a complete inability to make any sense whatsoever!
Hi lads,
Pleaseforgive me, but the attacks on the commentater’s from RTE is a little over the top. We as liverpool fans are regarded by john giles as the most knowledgeable in England and he regards rafa benitez as the best coach in the premiership. So when he raises the point that liverpool didn’t hold the ball up in the last third of the pitch in the second half , I think is a fair point. He believed that we could have won the match instead of holding on,as we did.
Although I believe that Eamonn dunphy was a bit over the top in his opinion,he was at least putting his opinion forward……unlike the cowards that commentate for BBC,SKY and ITV… a case in point was the tackle on peter crouch during the liverpool v chelsea match at anfield…Dirk kuyt hits the cross bar and peter crouch is fouled when trying to score on the rebound….it should have being a penalty and red card but andy gray cant see this and claims crouch should have being stronger.
PS please forgive me but,i also get a bit defensive with the idiot and irish bit…..old joke but still hurts…
How many Guinness’s did they have before spitting out that crap?
All pundits like to see the style of football Arsene Wenger plays. They don’t care who plays it; they want to be entertained like any neutral fan watching a game. Liverpool don’t entertain anyone; they get results, sometimes. There’s no point denying we’re an ugly team to watch for neutrals; stopping the opposition playing is our primary tactic and hitting on the break. The same as Chelsea and none of us would like to watch Chelsea above Arsenal or Barcelona.
Those guys were harsh in their comments because we got through; but we are not a nice side to watch play football so unless you support Liverpool and only care about the result; you won’t like Liverpool’s style, or lack of style, very much.
Wot difference does it make that theyre Irish pundits?? Some ocd comments here about roadways and thick tags….?
Anyone who listens 2 Shearer, Hansen, Lawro, and co.. will often hear real sh0t talk too. Thats wot pundits r paid for.
Liverpool were so lucky in the first leg, no comparison between Barca and Liverpool
Have these dings got a clue what they are talking about. Liam Brady ought to know football but then how could he. He hasn’t won five European Cup’s. And as for Stevie.G. thats why every top European footy team wants him in there side and are willing to pay millions for the boy. The other two are just bitter Mancs !!!!
If it’s winner take all because of scoring more goals then there can be no arguments about who won. Style is not a concern.
If it’s about pretty football then Barca are known for their style that flows. And ‘Pool are still building their team, winning as they can.
But you still need the goals to win in style.
If it’s winning TV viewers then these muppets will draw those who like to argue. They do not get to score goals no matter what words they use to convince you they are worth listening to!
So, the losers are the muppets and Braca.
The winners are LIVERPOOL!
Enough said…
Lololol, hilarious, priceless. You’d struggle to find a single Spaniard, let alone Catalonian half as upset and pissed off as these gays. The whole discussion is so absurd you just can’t do anything but laugh.
These are on the Irish national station, RTE, I see them all the time, they are muppets, like talking out about stuff they think they know about. Dont like the racial stereotyping used by RedNugget above, we dont make comments about the Brits being a nation of violent, intelligenceless yobs do we. So leave out the racial stereotyping red nugget.
I wonder what they made of United’s complete dominance over the worst side in the competition, Lille.
The bias is laughable but who cares what Mancs think. Only watched two mins of it.
We must be the luckiest team in Europe b/c we all know 2005 was totally down to luck and it seems everytime we play a decent team they just don’t turn up. Amazing luck isn’t it?
They’re only saying what neutral football fans think; that Liverpool are one of the ugliest teams to watch, like Chelsea. It’s fine if you support them and don’t care how they get results; but if you tune in to see good football you don’t want to be watching Liverpool very much. Sad but true.
LMFAO! These guys get paid for this? What’s the collective noun for moronic ignorant imbeciles? Maybe it’s a studio-full of moronic ignorant imbeciles. What game where they watching? Not the one I saw where Beni got his tactics spot on, and has become the team everyone fears in Champions League football. The reds where amazing, on yet another fantatsic European night at Anfield. YNWA
It’s so typical these bitter Mancs infiltrate every aspect of the game.
From “Sir” Bobby Charlton (another joke knighthood when you think about it) to Graham Poll, the Manc-friendly ref. Note Fergie getting his knickers in a twist when Poll pulled out of the Anfield game.
These jokers are just another example of their poison pro-Manc agenda.
All we can do is “out” these b******s and try to get them removed.
YNWA
The English Premiership is the most popular and the games are the best subscribed to and the most exciting football matches anywhere in the world. Liverpool is one of the stalwarts that has helped build this reputation. All the world bye the rights to show our games that is why we are the richest league in the world. Now if the Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Brazilian…etc Leagues were doing the right thing, like playing a superior type of football they would be in the enviable position, popularly and financially that we are in. The Liverpool Barca games where a good example of this in action the superior tactics and better football dominated both games and the only thing wrong with the result was that it was not more emphatic. In spite of the bigoted views ot the three stooges barca had a ten minute spell in the first game after they scored. In the second game they scored an offside goal and hit the outside of the post they give nothing else. Liverpool goalkeeper had no shots to save it was all the boys in red – everything better football better organisation, it must have been we couldn’t have been so far ahead of them if we were inferior to them in any respect. BRING ON THE MANCS AND RUSIAN MAFIA WE’LL SHOW THEM HOW THE GAME SHOULD BE PLAYED.
Craig Johnston – don’t tune in. We don’t play for saddos on their couches. The studio commentators are entitled to their opinion, it’s just that they are embarrasingly stupid. Liverpool out thought Barca over two legs, had most chances and deserved to win. Liverpool are a work in progress, Barca are perhaps the best team in Europe. Liverpool were magnificent, who cares if you weren’t entertained? Change channels.
This is just the tip of the iceberg, these two Dunphy and Giles have been attacking Liverpool for years.
The clip shown is very tame compared to some of the rubbish they have come up with.Roma were the worst italian side ever when we beat them a few years ago and Dunphy Said Barcelona will hammer them ( liverpool) then when we knocked them out they were the woprst barcelona team ever and alves were a pub team, juventues were the worst italian side ever too and milan exploded inthe final we didnt fight back .LOL
This lugs do not represent Irish people lets get this clear. They are Man Utd fans full stop.
It’s always the same, someone criticises Liverpool and they must be a Manc. Face it we are well able to get a result against anyone but it’s always backs to the wall, where is the flair? It won’t come from Gerrard that’s for sure, he’s great in flashes but he believes his own hype.
THESE 3 ARE ONLY SAYING WHAT WE ARE ALL THINKING.
RedNugget
Less of your racist comments you sad man.
Eamon Dunphy is a gobs**te – period. Virtually evryone know this. You can alway tell when he’s talking s***e – because his loops move (not to mention his wrist). Here stands a mad who defends the odiferous hypocrisy of Roy Keane during his japanese treachery – not to mention his ‘ghost writing’ of the knackers autobiography
S.Wainwright – I won’t change the channel, thanks. Nor will I be a bear faced liar and try to make Liverpool out to be nice team to watch. There aren’t. Liverpool were a “work in progress” in 2001 too when we were criticised for ugly football.
Seems Houllier’s mentality of denying ugly football wore off on too many fans. If we win ugly, fair enough. But have the honesty to admit it.
Is the format of this programme to get three people out of the nearest ale house, put them on air, and let them make complete lemons out of themselves?
It’s very, very close to comedy.
hard work gets results and LFC provided that over two legs. LFC were also unlucky in the first half, but that doesn’t give you results. “Penant will never play for a premier league or CL winning side” …… well maybe this year you Irish tw**t
i’m sorry. but i agree with a lot of what they have said. it’s time for reds fans to take the blinkers off now. we play a horrible negative type of football. rafa is as much as, if not more negative than houllier. we have a team of AVERAGE players, with Carra aside. Gerrard is falling into the rut of playing alongside s***e week in wek out, his performances are bound to suffer. Alonso, has exceptional quality but has been missing for 12 months now. we have 3 ’strikers’ at the club who are pitiful. dirk kuyt, when not playing as a right back or defensive midfielder is poor at best up front. his first touch is appaling for a start and has a case of the andy coles about him. he will need at least 5 clear attempts on goal before he finds the back of the net.
it’s time for rafa to stop throwing caution to the wind and allow LFC to start playing football. i’m hoping our football is suffering because of the lack of money he’s had to spend on the players he actually wanted. with G an T’s dosh, hopefully he’ll get the players to take us to another level becuase in my opinion, things have not changed that much from the dark days of the french lunatic
I have to say, that i prefer listening to these fellas rather than the commentators on sky, bbc, itv. They speak their mind unlike some of the other commentators who are afriad of the backlash from managers they would recieved eg fersugson wontt speak to bbc, plus they can be quite funny in their reviews. Which makes it great viewing.
But the funniest thing Edmond Dumphy ever said was just before the Bayer Leverkusen V Liverpool 2005 – he said “I don’t give Liverpool a chance of winning this game, so much so that i would bet my house on them loosing.” Liverpool went out and won 3-1 I think. I am still awiting for his house deeds in the post.
this has nothing to do with Man U. And its not just a Liverpool criticism thing, they are always going off on a particular path that has more to do with football being an art form always than the reality. They are not therefore objective when it comes to real games.
No, pretending we are something we are not is funny, not the reality check.
i’m a red and we played like tossers in the second half against barca. We should’ve stuffed barca but instead we let them come at us and lost the match.
This criticism from Dunphy / Giles / Brady isn’t just levelled at Liverpool. When teams play badly, they say it out. They criticise Manure, Chelski and everyone else when they play badly. They don’t spout truism and nonsense a la richard keys and jamie redknapp. They speak the truth.
I don’t fully agree with them but their core argument, that liverpool played really badly in the second half of that game (with the exception of Agger, Finnan, and Carragher) is completely merited. Our midfield (so-called world class) was a disgrace – couldn’t string a decent pass together which would have alleviated a lot of pressure from us.
As for the ‘drunken irish’ comments made by some reds supporters above – your racism is the only thing that truly demeans Liverpool Football Club……not Giles and Dunphy.
for those who say they would rather listen to these idiots than bbc, sky etc…are as uneducted about the game as these ‘pundits’ if you want to listen to bitter bias opinion then fine, at least the other pundits(sky etc) give balanced views most of the time. I bet these man u fans hailed victory over lille as genius and top quality football when the reality was they just edged both legs against a team light years away from barcelona
Why have these horrible, Manc, jealous, bias tits been given a job which remotely involves talking about football! To say that gerrard is a nothing player is beyond a joke. To say that Benitez was negative is ridiculous, and it was clear to see that over the two legs we took the game to Barcelona, a side of the fifteen minute spell they had in the second half of the home leg. How can people of their supposed stature be so bias, and give such ill balanced opinions on national T.V, based on their clear jealousy and hatred for our prestigious club. Overall their comments were absolutely despicable and inaccurate, and it would be an absolute disgrace if they were to remain on television. STRANDY –BEDES BOYS REDS!
re/bob…
being irish is a nationality not a separate race. we europeans are all the same race, different nationalities but the same race. so insulting the three naughty boys is just that -an insult- and not a so called “racist” attack. by the way i’m quite often a drunken liverpool (english) clown it’s quite enjoyable you should try it sometime.
“I bet these man u fans hailed victory over lille as genius and top quality football when the reality was they just edged both legs against a team light years away from barcelona”
They have said that they have been useless for several months now, that Rooney is being wasted and Rolnaldo is highly overated that he is a cheat and plays for about 5 minutes in games if at all.
Let all the skysports/bbc/itv lovers go back to listening to that biased crap, they are the reason the England team is always hyped up and always come home with their tails between their legs after failing to live up to the media hype.
You guys should hear what they say about the Irish team – ALWAYS HITTING THE NAIL ON THE HEAD THERE TOO!
Its very entertaining stuff whether you agree with whats said or not puts the banal stuff on bbc and utv to shame. Most Irish people watch the matches on bbc (unless its an irish national team match) and then watch rte for the analysis.Sure dunphy plus giles hate cristano ronaldo too its not just liverpool they give out about. They are most entertaining when discussing the english soccer team they told it like it was unlike the brownnoses in the bbc and utv. Also during the last world cup g souness was on the panel with them he was very forthright too funny stuff.
Dunphy is a guy people love to hate its how he makes his money. In the 2002 world cup he wore cameroon colours red tie and green shirt and hoped ireland would lose.It was after the siapan thing and he was writing keanes book.
Check out this google video arguement about roy keane leaving man utd its proves not all anti liverpool…bear in mind dunphy wrote keanes book
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6238632019167115546&q=Eamon+Dunphy
I agree with brady in this one…look up eamonn dunphy on wikipedia
are we all so blind that we think we outclassed them? gerrard is cack compared to ronnie. carra is our only half-decent player. these guys are ok, they’re not old boys like hansen or lawro who always say “an off day” whenever we fail to beat one of the big teams. they call it how they see it, anyone’s right surely.
I am from Dublin and I watch the match’s on SKY or the Beeb but turn over to RTE to listen to the analysis. I am an ardant LFC fan and most of you are caught up in the emotion. The UK media pundits are actually the ones who talk dribble and say what you want to hear. Who ever is on the RTE panel give football analysis and have no bias for any team. They slated the mancs for their crap against Lille for example.
In the Barca match though I found myself to pissed with them as they were really scathing about liverpools efforts as they gave no real credit for the firs 60 minutes when we destroyed Barca. So why were they so scathing? Well take your emotion out of it and your red glasses off and analyse it properly.
1. We should have hammered then 3 or 4 but we DIDN’T and ended up hanging on booting the ball away for the last 20 minutes
2. We did not put 2 passes together in the last 20 minutes
3. Barca were rubbish all game but we made them look better than they actually were.
We all want LFC to be great again but lets face it, we all know we cant put 3-4 passes together or keep the ball well enough and that is really what the RTE guys were on about even though it was a bit OTT.
Now to Stevie G.
The point RTE make all the time is right. He will do inspirational things like scoring a wonder goal(cup final), make a great run, put a great pass or tackle in, but again lets face it, he does not control or dictate a game like a beckenbaur, xavi, or even a fabrigas. HJe is by far our best player but in the Barca game at what stage the Stevie G control or dictate the game apart from the odd exception of a quick long pass, or good run all of which added to about 1 minute, the game is 90 minutes long. And that is what RTE were saying although in Dunphy’s scatching mood he was too flippent about Stevie.
Lets face it, we did brilliant to get through and those Anfield nights are amazing but do we play good football, I don’t think so. Can’t keep the ball or create clear chances for the majority of our games, look at the dribble against the 3rd team in Liverpool(the blue noses)a few weeks ago or villa on Sunday zzzzzz time. . We are still 2 or 3 great players away from really playing great football and hopefully Rafa will spend the pot of gold well in the Summer
this one is even more classic dunphy giles and brady on sven goran ericson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cugYQ35vtvQ
Dunphy has always been sensationalist. How else do you explain a n**ody in the football world getting a pundit job. Dunphy is a Roy Keane fan, not a United fan. He slates Ronaldo more than anyone Dave Needham so get your facts right. I agree with Con, these guys say what we all discuss in the pub or wherever we may be, it’s refreshing rather than the likes of Redknapp, Hoddle and the rest uttering their damp squib analysis, afraid to offend. I’m a Pool fan but Gerrard is not a leader, a good player in fits and starts but a captain is a label not necessarily a leader. Carra is the one true leader on that pitch, he should be captain. Gerrard being one of the greatest players in the world a myth? I agree, he never states Gerrard is a n**ody by the way. (Oh yes he does – Ed) Fully agree about Pennant, the sooner he goes the better. We bought him to get crosses in and score some goals. He’s got one goal and cannot cross his legs.
WOW, did i hear right? steve g is a n**ody? a team that you pick off a street cud match us? WTF? you can tell that they are manure fans, makes me sick that they slate us all the b***** time. bitter and twisted idots. i hope that they win f**k all this year and get relegated next year and see wot they say then wen they go to places e.g swansea and get beat. bitter gets.
That game was terrible and all liverpool were doing were throwing themselves in front of it and kicking the ball away..and gerrard did do nothing, Jamie carragher is liverpool’s best player, and gerrard is unbelievably ovverated. All you people who slated them, watch the spineless pundits on bbc and keep trying to convince yourself liverpool are one of the best teams in europe.. Dirk kuyt is not good enough to play in the premiership..craig bellamy is a scumbag who makes the effort when it suits him, Gerrard has some great moments but does’nt contribute much to general play. Crouch, Finnan, and Carragher are the only liverpool players coming out of this season with any credibility in my opinion. These blokes were just being honest.
Why do you people think this punditry is on youtube? Its entertaining. Watch bbc if you want to see 3 grown men fellating every english player in the premiership.
Im fed up watching ITV and SKY with there perennial fence-sitting ‘experts’ spouting inane drivel and shamelessly fawning over every player in the Premiership. Pundits like Jamie Redknapp are facillitated in boring and uninsightful discussions by the easy and rhetorical questioning of Richard Keyes, these people contribute to the hype machine constantly inflating English football to its current extreme false sense of self-importance. People like Dunphy and Giles are much more objective and arent shackled by corporate fatcats telling them what to say. Football analysis is supposed to be a debate not endless boring chat riddled with clichés
Im a united fan and these comments by dunphy etc sre normal
he thinks ronaldo ferdinand r nothing players he stil criticised us wen we beat roma 7-1 watch da video if u dont believe me
“Unfortunately, balanced views went out the window in this particular Irish studio. Eamonn Dunphy, chief clown in this piece, slates Liverpool. A bitter twisted Man United fan if ever you met one.”
Idiot. He hates everything at some stage and don’t even start on how he talks about United. He slated them continually in ‘99 until they won the b***** treble. He has slated Chelsea when they were crushing all before them in the premier league and he at last (just last week) admitted he was wrong about Ronaldo saying he was the real deal. Dunphy makes regular visceral attacks on players and managers he watches, for instance:
on 8 March 2006 when speaking on RTÉ television in the aftermath of Liverpool’s exit from the Champions League at the hands of SL Benfica. In a characteristically harsh assessment of the Liverpool team, Dunphy said of their Spanish winger Luis García:
“They (Liverpool) should put Garcia where he belongs – in the dustbin.”
In the same broadcast, when asked on his views of Chelsea’s elimination from the same competition the previous night at the hands of FC Barcelona, Dunphy said of the Chelsea manager José Mourinho:
“We’ll all see through Mourinho. We’ll find out he’s just a Bengal lancer ["Chancer" - Dublin slang word]!”
he also said:
“here we have Cisse, right wing, attempts to put in a cross, BANG…hits the full back, again BANG hits the full back, BANG…off the full back again, and once more, BANG…smacks the full back again…. Millions of euro and he can’t clear the first man, I mean…what’s he trying to do to the full back here, Kill him??”
He wasn’t finished there though. When asked what he thought of Harry Kewell (who had also played for Liverpool that night) he was blunt:
“Fat and a clown. A fat clown for all to see.”
During the coverage of Euro 2004, Dunphy told RTÉ viewers
“”You need poverty and dictatorship to produce great footballers.”
He also informed fellow pundit John Giles:
“Machiavelli was an Italian… Wasn’t he, John? Who did he play for?”
After Ireland lost a two goal lead against Holland in 1983 Dunphy wrote about Liam Brady:
“” He is often looked on as a great player. He is nothing of the kind. His performance on Wednesday was a disgrace, a monument to conceit adorned with vanity and self-indulgence, rendered all the more objectional by the swagger of his gait. He was deemed by many observers to have had a splendid game.”"
“O’Shea not good enough, Ferdinand and Brown dodgy, Ronaldo a puff ball, Fletcher and Carrick nothing players, Rooney has never done it on the big stage .”
Eamonn before United destroyed Roma 7-1.
In 2007 after AC Milan verses Manchester United he called Rio Ferdinand a ‘tramp’.
He has also in the past said Michele Platini is crap.
