Liverpool agree £8M fee for Spanish striker Iago Aspas

Liverpool have agreed a fee just under £8M with Celta Vigo to sign striker Iago Aspas.

The La Liga campaign hasn't yet ended so the player is not expected to travel to Liverpool until next week according to Spanish sport newspaper Marca.

The newspaper states that the player has a €10M buyout clause, but if Celta Vigo are relegated this would have fell to €7M.

As a result, Celta Vigo and Liverpool have reached an agreement on the fee this week, before the final game of the season.

Aspas has earned good reviews in Spain despite the disappointing form of his team this term and will further increase the isolation of Andy Carroll who is believed to still be mulling over a permanent move to West Ham.

  1. Looks like he is Suarez replacement. With Suarez hinting that he would find it difficult to turn down Real, Liverpool has to move fast to find a replacement. So Cara and Suarez out, Kuolo and Aspas are the replacement. Still need more players for squad depth. Another 3 players perhaps.
