Liverpool linked with wantaway James Milner

Liverpool are interested in acquiring James Milner according to The Guardian.

The newspaper reported that the England international has had enough of warming the bench at the Etihad and wants to move on to pastures new.

Although Arsenal are tipped to be front-runners, Brendan Rodgers is said to be an admirer of the 28 year old who had an impressive cameo at Anfield a month back.

Milner made just 12 starts in the League last season, although he was Pellegrini's 'go to man' from the bench - being used as a substitute in 19 of the club's games in the Premier League.

Milner and Joe Hart are the only two senior English players at the club - and his departure could further complicate Man City's ability to cope with Premier League and UEFA rules about homegrown players.

The newspaper report that Man City would prefer to keep the player but insist that he made his mind up to leave over a month ago.

  1. Lallana, Lovren perhaps Klonopylyanka and possibly that Spanish defender whose name I can’t remember!! I don’t want Mascherano back or Milner anywhere near us. Would also consider Richards if they don’t ask to much for him.
