Leto arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2007 but only played a handful of games, as he was unable to land a work permit to take part in Liverpool’s Premier League games. As a result Liverpool were forced in to sending the player out on loan and he spent last season with Olympiakos.
However at the end of the season Olympiakos expressed reluctance to purchase the player despite a good season, and it was rivals Panathiniakos who made the first permanent approach to LFC.
