Klopp: ‘8,000 extra fans at Anfield – more power – we should use it’

We have another 8,000 in the stadium.  That's more power. We should use this.Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp is busy preparing for the weekend visit of Leicester and has expressed his amazement at the development of the new Main Stand since the last home game in May against Chelsea.

He also gave updates on the Liverpool teams injury status.  Sadio Mane is fine whilst Emre Can has a 'little issue' with the ankle.  Without a full pre-season it appears that Emre Can won't be risked for the Leicester game.

Ragnar Klavan also picked up the recurrence of a knee injury whilst on international duty and is a doubt for the weekend.

But he opened his press conference with words about the development of the new stadium - he and the players visited earlier this week.

'The day before yesterday was the first time (I had been recently) at Anfield.  It is really really impressive what they did there.  Outstanding job - I have no idea how someone could do something like this but it is really impressive.

'With the champions coming, we celebrated them all it was really well deserved what they did last season.  They are still good - all of that. But it's another season.

'We have another 8,000 in the stadium.  That's more power. We should use this.'

Klopp was asked if he had used the international break to watch the first three games back - the Liverpool manager responded that he had already watched them twice before the international break adding 'that's a normal part of what we do'.

He also highlighted that it was still very early days for the team.

'It's a very young season we still have to develop.  Nobody plays at their best now - not even those with 9 points.'
