Markovic looks fit – scenes from Serbia-Albania game

Despite the unpleasant scenes at last night's Euro 2016 qualifier between Serbia and Albania (a match abandoned after Albania elected not to carry on) we at Anfield Online like to err on the side of optimism.

So it was good to see concerns over the fitness of Lazar Markovic appear to be unfounded - Liverpool's £20M wide-man was the first of the substitutes on to the field, showing some of the pace that Liverpool fans have been expectantly awaiting.

Markovic was subbed off in Saturday's game against Armenia with a suspected muscular injury but his condition improved in the days following and he posted an update on Tuesday stating the injury wasn't as bad as first feared.

Oh, and obviously we hope the authorities act decisively against the morons involved in the chair-throwing and drone-flying.
