LFC Fans in boost to local charity

Many thanks to all those who purchased tickets and attended the Liverpool FC Fans Charity event on Saturday night down at The Clarence on Utting Avenue near Anfield.

Along with members of the LFC Reds Liverpool Forum we have managed to raise a total of £2000 for Zoe’s Place Children’s Hospice in Liverpool.

There are simply too many people to thank for not only organising the event but also in donating prizes for us to give out.

The club itself donated a signed Liverpool shirt and a tour for four people around Anfield. Esteemed reds writer, Paul Tomkins, donated a whole host of signed copies of his excellent books that cost a fair bit for him to deliver! Greggs the Bakers also donated £250 to the fund.

A forum regular (RED1028) ran the Cork City marathon at the start of the month and other fans on the forum helped organise the event, printing tickets, selling raffle tickets, organising the buffet. Many thanks also to Nicky, the excellent singer who gave up her time for free for the evening.

The winner of last season’s LFC Prediction League on the forum donated the value of their prize (£150) towards the charity.

To say I’ve been overwhelmed and humbled by the effort shown by fellow Liverpool fans and members of the forum is an understatement.

Well down all of you.

You can still donate to Zoe’s Place via their official fund-raising page.
