Injury blow: Henderson’s Liverpool season over

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson's season is over with the player ruled out for 6 to 8 weeks.

As well as ending his involvement in Liverpool's remaining Premier League and Europa League clashes it looks set to rule him out of the 23 man England squad for this summer's European Championships.

Henderson has been dogged by injury this season, but only a few days ago after the Spurs game he said he was feeling he was approaching his full energy levels.

He sustained a knee injury towards the end of the first half of last night's game in Germany.

Initial fears were of an anterior cruciate ligament tear but the injury is isolated to the collateral ligament.

Jurgen Klopp had already prepared for him missing the rest of the season when last night he said 'It doesn't look good.'

With Emre Can due to face suspension in the Premier League the reds will have to make a major reshuffle of central midfield at the weekend.
