Liverpool’s on-loan keeper suffers season ending injury

Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan will return to the club after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The Hungarian international moved to Wigan on loan this summer after the arrival of both Loris Karius and Alex Manninger boosted LFC's goalkeeping options.

Bogdan made 6 appearances for the reds last season and Liverpool would have been looking at the options to sell the player next summer.

He was stretchered off the field during the weekend's game against Barnsley.  The club had to wait for the swelling to reduce in his knee before getting full results from a scan.

Now he faces a long period of up to 9 months out and joins Danny Ings on the long-term injury list.

Speaking on his Instagram social media account he said:

“I have just received the result of my MRI scan, which showed that I tore my ACL in my right knee.

“It will be a lengthy recovery.

“I am sure I will return stronger.”
