OLD BOY GETS IN TO MANAGEMENT GAME

Former Liverpool and West Ham midfielder Mike Marsh has joined Nuneaton Borough as their new assistant manager.

Marsh retired from playing at the end of last season after helping Accrington Stanley clinch promotion to the Nationwide Conference.

The 33-year-old, twice a Conference winner with Kidderminster and Boston, will now be hoping to do the same with Nuneaton following their relegation to the Dr Martens League.

"This is fantastic news for the club and Marshy will be great to have around the place," said Boro boss Alan Lewer, who previously worked with Marsh at Boston.

"He has wanted to get into coaching for a while and he trusts me and I trust him 100 per cent.

"I have promised I will look after him and help him along in coaching and he will be a great asset to the club," Lewer told the club's website.
