Liverpool travel to Cardiff in the weekend's Premier League clash - hoping to extend their undefeated Premier League run to an 11th game.

The reds are enjoying their best spell of the season having won the last 5 games, and undefeated in the past 10 - amassing 26 points out of a maximum 30 available.

Last weekend's 3-0 demolition job at Old Trafford cemented our credentials for a top four spot - but in a weekend which sees Arsenal and Chelsea play each other - Liverpool will be hoping to set about cementing a top three position.

Cardiff are second from bottom and new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be highly motivated to spoil Liverpool's recent Premier League record.

The 'Bluebirds' were unlucky to drop a point at Goodison last week when a late Coleman goal denied them the draw.  They won their most recent home game against fellow strugglers Fulham, but were beaten 4-0 by Hull before that.

Team News

Liverpool welcomed back Mamadou Sakho and Lucas Leiva in to the squad last week, with Lucas getting a brief cameo at the end of the Old Trafford win.

Both of these players are likely to once again take their seats on the bench with Brendan Rodgers likely to name an unchanged side.

Cardiff have doubts over Ben Turner and Andrew Taylor's involvement.

LFC v Cardiff stats

Prior to Cardiff's promotion - the last meeting between the two sides was the 2012 League Cup final which Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool won on penalties.

This season's Premier League game was the first league meeting between the two clubs at Anfield since 1959 - in what was Bill Shankly's first game in charge.

Watch the goals as Liverpool score 3 against Cardiff

Liverpool won 3-1 back in December at Anfield - a result which ensured the reds were top for Christmas Day.

Betting

Liverpool are the favourites at 2/5 for the win.  Cardiff are outsiders - best prices for them are 8/1.

2-0 to LFC is a favoured scoreline at 7/1.   You can grab a 0-0 or 2-2 draw at 20/1.

Big Liverpool wins, such as 5-0, 5-1 and 4-2 can all be picked up for 40/1.

Sturridge and Suarez first scorer are both priced about 4/1.  Gerrard slightly longer odds at 7/1.

Prediction

Liverpool are in much better form and there is a reason why the reds are 2nd and Cardiff are 2nd from bottom.  Barring a poor performance from the reds - then this game should go with the formbook.

We think the result will be the same as the game at Anfield - 3-1 to Liverpool.

Bet: Suarez first scorer and 3-1 to Liverpool is 22/1.
