Official LFC.TV channel reassures fans

Official LFC.TV channelAs many keen football fans will know speculation has been rife that Setanta, the sports broadcasting group, is in some financial difficulty.

The official Liverpool FC channel is part of Setanta’s output.

Liverpool FC take full financial control of the channel this summer and have moved to quell any concern amongst supporters.

Staff at the Reds channel were set to have an urgent meeting this morning to discuss the likely effect on Lfc TV, which is based at the Matchworks office complex in Speke.

A spokesman for Liverpool FC said:

“Lfc.tv is continuing to broadcast as normal on Virgin Media and online.

“We are aware of the rumours circulating about Setanta’s future and we are working to ensure that if anything should change with regard to their stability, Liverpool fans will still be able to access lfc.tv.”

Failure of Setanta to sort out its financial backing could result in an impact to future revenue deals as Setanta are due to control around 1/6th of Premier League TV money in the 2010-2013 seasons.

Liverpool recently valued the intellectual property of the LFC TV channel as worth £7.5 million in the clubs accounts.

Official LFC.TV channel reassures fans

  1. The only reason I subscibed to Setanta is for Lfc.tv. If Lfc.tv can go it alone like man.u.scum.tv and London.blue.noses.with.no.history.tv, then I’d be more than happy with that. And if Liverpool need the revenue for the channel, then make it £15 to £20 a month. I cancelled my sky sports subscription once the Lfc.tv channel began and, with being across the Irish sea from the motherland that is Liverpool, I have found the channel unmissable. People have commented on it being repetitive, which is utter rubbish. I could watch ian st john stick that header against Leeds in ’65, terry mac’s header against spurs in the late 70’s, brucie’s jelly legs in Roma’s back garden in ’84, Steve mcmahon’s bullet run to the sideline against arsenal in 87, the education of our young reds and the ignorant on the 15th April 1989 (YNWA), Gary mac’s freekick against the blue sh!te in 2001 and the glory of the 25th may 2005 over and over and over and over again. If it takes even a pound a day, I’ll pay it because I’d rather give the money I earn straight to my club than bskyb or Setanta! That’s what I would prefer but I’m sure someone may disagree. JUSTICE 4 THE 96!!! YNWA
