LIVERPOOL v MACCABI HAIFA (ISRAEL)
UEFA Champions League Q Rd3 Leg 1 @ Anfield
9th August 2006 @ 20:05
Season start betting amount: £20
Current LFC betting total: £9.20

Maccabi Haifa - the Israeli champions Background

Here we are again at the Champions League Qualifying Rounds. The reds will be looking to build a decent first leg lead - to maybe alleviate concerns over the second legs location which is not yet decided.

No more slip-ups after 3 consecutive away defeats at this year's European training camp in Switzerland and Germany.

The reds have a fairly full strength team to pick from with many players having at least two friendlies under their belts.

Robbie Fowler has a knee injury and Fabio Aurelio has a calf injury ruling both players out. Other doubtfuls include Mark Gonzalez who has missed the last two friendlies with a calf injury and Daniel Agger who continues to struggle with an ankle injury. Both Bellamy and Pennant are expected to make their full debuts.

Our Prediction

The reds even not fully fit should be technically too good for the Israeli champions, who may have more on their mind back home.

Anfield Online Prediction/Kiss of death: 3-0 to the reds.
