BAROS: WE WILL BE BETTER

Milan Baros insists Liverpool can learn painful lessons from last season and begin closing the gap on the top three this time around.
The Reds finished a massive 30 points behind champions Arsenal last year as they sneaked into fourth place to at least salvage a Champions League place from a disappointing campaign.

Baros is hoping a change of manager will bring a change of fortunes to the red half of Merseyside as Liverpool bid to end their long wait for the Premiership crown.

He said: "Last season we finished 30 points behind Arsenal. It was a big gap and I know we can do better.

"We had a lot of injuries last season. We did not play good football. It was a difficult time. We were under pressure because everybody expected us to play with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United for the title. But we lost points and then we were under more pressure.

"It was a difficult season but I hope we learn from it. We can definitely play better football and be closer to the top teams.

"I hope bringing in the new manager will help. All the players want to fight for the title. All of us want to be in the Champions League. You have to prove that in the season."
