CHEYROU GONE ON LOAN

Marseille have completed the loan capture of Liverpool midfielder Bruno Cheyrou, with an option to buy the France international.

Cheyrou had been chasing a move to l'OM in a bid to secure regular first team football to boost his international prospects.

New Reds boss Rafa Benitez has clearly decided Cheyrou will not figure in his plans for next season and has allowed the 26-year-old to return to Ligue 1.

The left-sided midfielder had spent two years at Anfield after signing from Lille but may not represent Liverpool again.

L'OM coach Jose Anigo was delighted with his new recruit and is hoping Cheyrou proves he will be worthy of a permanent contract at Stade Velodrome.

"I wished for the arrival of Bruno," Anigo told the club's official website.

"He is a good player and l'OM need a boy like him.

"He is an intelligent man, that was one of my first criteria. Then, I sought to balance the left side.

"Bruno has a good left foot, is very athletic, is a good fighter and can bring more height.

"He has revenge to think about after his seasons at Liverpool. I like his talk, he has the profile to succeed in Marseille."
