NEW FACES IN BOOT-ROOM

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has brought a new backroom team with him as he sets about the job of taking the Reds back to the top of English football.

Benitez, who took charge of his first training session at Melwood yesterday, has radically overhauled the backroom team following Gerard Houllier's departure and has brought three other new faces to Anfield.

Pako Ayesteran, who was his number two and fitness trainer at Valencia has joined his staff along with coach Paco Herrera who was formerly manager of Merida and Albacete.

Goalkeeping coach Jose Ochotorena has also arrived as a replacement for Joe Corrigan.

The new staff members haven't officially been given titles yet, but the structure of the new backroom team is expected to be finalised within the next few days.
