Liverpool full back John Arne Riise is concerned for his future after the man who rescued his career departs Liverpool. Riise said:

"I'm unsure what future lies ahead, but I need to talk with the new boss. It will be a new start. You never know whether a new manager will play you.

"Houllier turned it all around for me, from a forgotten player in Monaco to a regular at Liverpool.

"I felt it in my stomach when I heard about it yesterday. I became sad. He did a lot for me.

"It was due to the results. We hoped that he should continue. At least I did."
