REDS IN THE TRANSFER MARKET

Liverpool will be looking to purchase not one, but two strikers in the January transfer window after Djibril Cisse's leg break effectively ruled him out for the season.

Cisse, who had just started showing some of his £14 million worth, fractured both his tibia and fibula leg bones.

It leaves Milan Baros as the only striker with noted Premiership experience at the club, although Florent Sinama Pongolle should be back from injury soon.

Luis Garcia may be advanced up front, but the club who were already looking to purchase a striker in the January window will now look to purchase two. With Mista having signed a new contract at Valencia, the likely targets are now expected to be Fernando Morientes and James Beattie.
