DUDEK ON EURO

Jerzy Dudek reckons that Liverpool will have an uphill struggle to get 4th place, and that winning the Champions League may be our only way back in!

"I think our best chance may be to win the competition," he said today. "We know we have a chance. We've not suffered in Europe. I'd prefer to win the Champions League than come fourth but it will be hard.

"But of course we must keep going in the Premiership because we can't be sure that will happen. You have to approach every game in the same way."

If Liverpool are to maintain their push for a top four finish Dudek insists they must take maximum points from their five remaining Premiership fixtures.

"We have five games left and now we need to make sure we win every match, starting with Portsmouth and Crystal Palace," he adds.

"We have no control over how much the gap will be when Everton play their game in hand, plus we have to be aware of Bolton now.

"It's out of our hands and it's frustrating we've been unable to put more pressure on. Bolton's position is surprising but it's going to make for a very tight finish.

"Now every game is vital, but at least we'll still have the alternative route if we beat Chelsea. We're suffering now because of our away form."
