RAFA UPBEAT

Liverpool chief, Rafael Benitez, remains optomistic the reds can challenge for 4th spot.

Benitez said: "I still want to be positive even if it is more difficult now that Bolton have overtaken us.

"The situation is we have managed one more point and Everton have to play and win to open up a bigger gap.

"There are less games left but we have to start winning, quickly."

He added: "I was pleased with the performance but disappointed with the result. We played very well. From the last 15 minutes of the first half to the end of the match we were on top, playing at a high tempo and with good passes, crosses, shots, penalties and even against the post. We did everything we could.

"Some of the lads were very tired after the Champions League game but worked very hard. I suppose it was a good game to watch but not as a manager, that was very frustrating."
