NUNEZ: YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET

Antonio Nunez admits he still hasn't fully adjusted to the frantic pace and ferocity of the English game and that only when he does will Liverpool fans see the best of him.

Nunez's Anfield career is still in its infancy but already he has endured two frustrating spells on the sidelines, first through injury and then suspension.

In total he has played just 14 times for the Reds since arriving from Real Madrid in August and he's well aware of the need to improve his levels of performance.

"I think I have a lot to show because it's been difficult for me this season," says the player who is hoping to win a recall to the Liverpool starting eleven for this afternoon's clash at Birmingham.

"It has been very frustrating for me not playing or being involved. I've been out injured for a long time and need to adapt to the English game better. The Premiership is a lot more physical than La Liga and you have to be harder as a player."

Once he rediscovers his true form Nunez is looking forward to linking up again with former Bernabeu team-mate Fernando Morientes and he adds: "Fernando is not just a friend but also a good player for the team.

"He has only played a few games here so far but already he's shown what he can do. He is a great striker who can score goals and as a winger it's always good to have someone like Fernando who can get on the end of your crosses."
