XABI CONFIDENT OF GOAL FEST

Xabi Alonso admits Liverpool's lack of Premiership goals is a concern but that it will be turned around very soon.

Speaking today the midfield maestro said "Not scoring goals is a worry for us, there's no doubt about it. We are worried because we want to win games and that means we have to score goals. We have to work on that and try to score more.

"I am confident we have enough good players and enough quality to get goals. Look at what we did in Seville against Real Betis. We controlled the first half and scored two good goals.

"I am sure in our next game and the games after that we will show an improvement.

"We have to get the balance right because at the moment our defensive work is perfect. We haven't conceded a goal yet and we have to continue in this way but also look to do better in terms of scoring."

And the reds will be at Birmingham this weekend in another important fixture.

"It's an important game for us, just like they all are," Alonso added. "If we want to be closer to the top three then we have to start winning away from home and that's what we'll look to do on Saturday."
