THE REDS BUSY TRANSFER DAY

Jermaine Pennant: Right wing problem solved?

A quick round up of today's transfer news - maybe Rick Parry can have a quick read of this page before he gets back to Anfield!

Jermaine Pennant has officially signed for Liverpool on a four year deal. The player is on his way to Liverpool's training camp in Switzerland to join up with his team-mates and could feature in the weekend's game. He will wear the number 16 shirt.

Scott Carson has signed a new 5 year deal with Liverpool after speculation linking him with a move away. The news indicates Rafa's faith in the England number 3...

This clears the way for Jerzy Dudek to move to possibly Portsmouth in a £1.5 million deal.

Djimi Traore is attracting interest from Iain Dowie at Charlton. The player will probably move on a loan followed by an option to purchase.

Paul Anderson has also been offered an improved contract - which will involve a step up in to first team training.

Reports in Spain indicate that Real Madrid have officially tabled a £20 million bid to Liverpool for Xabi Alonso. Liverpool have rejected this offer.

And the media reports that Benitez is still targetting Dirk Kuyt as a replacement for Morientes with the transfer dependent on the sale of the likes of Traore and Dudek.

Expect more news as it is confirmed.
