REDS DEFENDER LEAVES

Zak leaves the reds

He was going to be a big star for the reds - but not anymore.

The reds youngster Zak Whitbread has left Anfield on a permanent deal, joining Nigel Spackman's Millwall side.

The 22 year old American spent a portion of last season on loan at the League One side, and has signed a 2 year deal.

It is thought that the transfer fee could rise to £200,000 depending upon appearances.

Whitbread himself said: "I really enjoyed myself last season at Millwall and I just felt that this was absolutely the right move for me."

We would like to wish Zak all the best for his future career.
