RAFA LAMENTS ON 'BAD WEEK'

Rafa the Gaffer has lamented on Liverpool's bad week, but insists the reds have a lot to play for, and are looking forward to facing Fulham on Wednesday night.

"It has been a bad week for us but I always say the same, and that is after a Sunday comes a Monday and a new week for us to put it right," commented Benitez.

"I was really disappointed with our first half performance at Arsenal but in the second half we were much better and we dug deep and showed character.

"I don't want to talk about second place or the league table and my concern is taking three points off Fulham. Manchester United are a good team and it will be difficult to catch them now, but if we beat Fulham we will be a lot more closer and we will see.

"The players are desperate to play this game against Fulham and to get back to winning ways."

Discussing the strikers he said,

"The strikers are working really hard and they know they need to score goals," added Benitez.

"We continue to create good chances and we had 30 efforts on goal against Charlton and we maybe need a little more luck. The strikers we have at the club have enough quality for scoring goals. We have talked about it but the question is we need to score.

"I have confidence in them and they will score goals soon, hopefully against Fulham on Wednesday."
