MORIENTES FACING LIVERPOOL EXIT

Fernando Morientes is the striker at the front of the queue out of Anfield according to reports from Spain today.

Rafael Benitez who has given the player plenty of backing is believed to be finally ready to part with the striker who has failed to produce the goods at Anfield since his move last spring.

Rafa has shown he is not afraid to sell players he himself has brought in (unlike Houllier).

Barcelona's catalan neighbours Espanyol are interested in bringing Morientes back to Spain and Liverpool are prepared to listen to offers of around £4 million, although they will be hoping the player has an excellent World Cup which will massively inflate his value back in Spain.
