BENITEZ READY TO MAKE BIG CHANGES

Benitez planning ahead

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is keen to make changes to his squad this summer regardless of the outcome of today's FA Cup final.

The Reds boss is being linked with summer moves for Charlton striker Darren Bent and Blackburn's Craig Bellamy, with Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes possibly leaving the Anfield club.

"A big club always needs to improve and we will try to do that," said Benitez.

"We have made fantastic progress this year, but every season I want to improve. We can improve a little bit more in defence but we also need to get better in attack."

The Liverpool boss has already agreed to bring in three players this summer with Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio committed to signing from Valencia, joining Argentinian centre-back Gabriel Paletta and Chile international Mark Gonzalez.
