MOORES: GIVE US THE TITLE, RAFA

Winners Again

Liverpool Chairman David Moores has presided over the reds winning every major trophy in the game in his 15 year spell in charge except one - and now he wants Rafa to go out and bring it home.

Whilst out celebrating on the reds victory parade yesterday, Moores said: "The progress we have made this season has been outstanding. I always felt we'd get much closer to Chelsea, but I don't think I expected us to finish with 24 more points than last year.

"We won the Champions League last season, the FA Cup this season and now we want the Premiership. It's the only trophy which has eluded me during my fifteen years as Chairman and I'd love to see us win it. Hopefully it won't be too long because that's the big one for us.

"With Rafa in charge we have every chance. I knew from the moment he came here that he was the right man for the job and he is proving it. Tactically there is no-one better and he has the respect of everybody at this club.

"We are very lucky to have him at our club and we aim to keep him happy and keep him here for as long as possible."

And Moores also broke his silence on last summer's greatest signing - Steven Gerrard.

"He is our talisman - I mean you just can't replace him. Thank goodness everything was sorted out last year!

"Everything's settled down now and I know he will be with us for life. He's an unbelievable player and I wouldn't swap him for anyone.

"He has got everything and never ceases to amaze. He has been magnificent, different class."
