CISSE LAYS IN TO BENITEZ

Cisse: Rafa doesn't like me

With Fernando Morientes gone, Djibril Cisse appears to have signed his own Anfield death warrant after coming out with a barrage against manager Rafael Benitez.

From the comfort of his French world cup training station, Cisse said his heart was set on a move to Gerard Houllier's Lyon.

Cisse, training with the France World Cup squad at Clairefontaine, said: "Mr. Houllier signed me for Liverpool but I never had the chance to work with him.

"Now I have a coach who doesn't want me. Benitez doesn't use me, so I've taken a step back.

"I don't have the confidence of the coach; he doesn't like me."

Cisse said he was ready to take a pay cut to join Lyon.

"Financially, you have to make some sacrifices and I'm ready to make them," he said.

"My heart leans to Marseille, but Lyon play in the Champions League and is a more stable club."

Cisse has scored 24 goals in 78 appearances for Liverpool, including a goal in the FA Cup final win over West Ham.

"Liverpool refused to let me go. I got a lot of hate mail on my internet site from Marseille fans, because they thought it was my fault," he said.

"I just don't think I could stand another season like the one I've just had."

Ciao, Djibril.
