SLIPPY PITCH INJURES RED'S KUYT

Kuyt - slippery when wet

A wet pitch has injured our newly-found goalscoring Dutchman Dirk Kuyt, and the injury could rule the player out of the reds next game.

International's - the bane of Liverpool supporters' lives, have knocked Kuyt out of Wednesday's international and possibly a couple of reds games in to the bargain.

The Dutchman lasted only 7 minutes into yesterday's Holland - Bulgaria game. Dirk went to control a high ball and slipped injuring his ankle.

It was an important game for the player who started for his national side for the first time in a long while after an injury to his fellow striker Ajax's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

More news is expected on the player's injury shortly but cheery soul Marco Van Basten, the Dutch coach, said: 'It doesn't look good.'

Holland drew 1-1.
