A RALLY CRY: YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE

Time to get behind the players

It's been a difficult few weeks for the reds, and in particular for Steven Gerrard.

His poor form has been now linked with rumours circulating, particularly on reds forums, about problems within his personal life on top of his weekend concerns over his daughters health. It's an easy assumption to make.

Back in the dark days of the Houllier regime, Steven suffered some personal problems which affected his game and threatened his Anfield career. All kinds of rumours circulated until the player admitted his form was related to his parents marriage breakdown.

Stevie G would be the first to admit he has not been at the top of his game, but he is our captain, and he needs our support.

In time the reds will turn it around - they will have been stung by the recent poor form, especially of all people Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool FC have always been at their most dangerous when our backs have been against the wall, 3-0 down in Istanbul, those final few minutes of last years FA Cup Final, 1-0 down against Arsenal in the FA Cup Final, Olympiacos at Anfield - you get the picture.

Let's start the fightback tomorrow against Reading - let's raise the roof at Anfield. Our anthem is You'll Never Walk Alone, and it is sung because it is a bond between the crowd at Anfield and the players who are there to fulfil our dreams. It's time for the players to find out who their friends are.

Don't let them down tomorrow night.
