LIVERPOOL DUO SHINE

Crouch: Prolific

England duo Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch proved England's shining lights yet again.

Peter Crouch scored after 4 minutes and then Gerrard quickly followed suit with a great strike to put England in a commanding position.

Gerrard then tricked his way past the bemused Andorran defence to get a brilliant cross in from his right wing position for Defoe to get the third.

Gerrard in fact excelled on the wing - okay it was only Andorra - but the quality of his crossing was brilliant, and unlike Beckham he can actually go past defenders.

Crouch still had time to score another - an incredible 10 goals in his 9 England games.

He could become the country's most prolific striker. How the media pundits must be eating their words when he was first selected. Michael Owen's England career may have been ended by Anfield's new star.

Rafa must have been thrilled as both players put in great performances ahead of next week's Derby.
