RIISE AND CARRA LATE LATE SHOW

John Arne Riise and Jamie Carragher will have late fitness tests ahead of the Merseyside Derby.

Both players missed their respective international duties and were believed to have been unlikely to take part in the derby.

However, both have improved in fitness towards the ends of this week, and while starting places are unexpected - both players are at least in with a chance of making it on to the substitutes bench tomorrow.

Rafa Benitez however is acutely aware that the reds have a massive 3 months ahead - chock full of midweek games and may decide not to risk the pair for the full blooded battle of a derby fixture.
