KOEMAN AND KROMKAMP TALK REDS

Jan - left the reds a mere 11 days ago.

Dirk is back in his homeland, expecting to fire the reds to victory on the same ground he scored in last week for the Netherlands.

Jan Kromkamp: 'Liverpool are a quality side. 'But I feel you should not even start a game when you lack the confidence to earn a victory yourself. So yes, I think we can beat Liverpool.'

'The Champions League is a completely different kind of competition,' he said.

'A team will only be eager to return to winning ways once they have slipped to defeat.'

On his short Liverpool career he said,

'I found it hard to find my rhythm when I was not given much playing time,' he added on PSV's official website.

'I need to play games to get in shape. I loved my spell with Liverpool and I will always cherish fond memories of the FA Cup final.

'But now I am delighted to be here, as PSV are a great club.'

New boss Ronald Koeman reckons that the reds defeat against Everton will not increase Liverpool's desire in this game - and hopes to dump us out again just like he did with Benfica last season.

'Liverpool will field more or less the same players,' he said. 'They have made some changes, but not that many.

'I expect they will play their familiar game. They still have the same coach and their game-plan will not have changed much.

'We [Benfica] met them twice last season.

'I have learnt from the double leg that they are hard to beat. That's why I think the result of the Everton game does not mean that much.'

He added: 'I take it for granted Dirk Kuyt will start.'

Patrick Kluivert could be in line for his debut for PSV, a player Liverpool were closely monitoring not so long ago.

'We will decide tomorrow whether Kluivert will be called up,' Koeman said. 'I feel it's up to the player himself to a great extent as well.

'I have my own ideas and I will discuss them with Patrick and together we will take the decision. But it is doubtful if he starts on the bench tomorrow night or Sunday, when we take on Feyenoord.'
